Check
Engine light on?
This normally
means an expensive trip to the dealer to find out what the fault is - and to
have the fault codes cleared.
Why not save
yourself the expense and read/clear your own fault codes at home!
A perfect tool
to keep in the toolbox or even in the glovebox!
Which cars does
it cover?
The reader covers:
- all petrol
cars from 2001 onwards*
- all diesel
cars from 2004 onwards*
(* - passenger cars sold from new within the EU, with a gross vehicle weight rating of less than 2500kg)
Some petrol
models from certain manufacturers, e.g. Ford, are known to work back to approximately
1997-98.
Is it easy to use?
It's very
quick and easy to use. Simply plug this reader into the 16-pin socket
on your car (normally in the driver's footwell), switch the car ignition on,
and in one button-press the fault codes will be displayed on the reader's
built-in screen.
What codes will it read?
It will read/clear
fault codes that trigger the Check Engine light (MIL) on the dashboard. These
are fault codes from the engine-management system on the car - this covers
engine, powertrain and emissions faults.
It will not
read/clear codes from other systems, e.g. SRS, ABS or Suspension systems,
or reset annual service indicators.
Can I turn my Check Engine light (MIL) off?

Yes!
Simply erase the fault code(s) from the car and the Check Engine light
will be reset.
