Coronavirus / COVID-19: Service Updates
At Gendan we are a small team, so should any of our staff contract the virus, it may have an unavoidable impact
on our operation, and therefore upon your order.
As a precaution, some of our team members are now working from home. This means there are fewer people in the office to answer the phone,
so please bear with us if we take a little longer than usual to answer.
As a mail-order business we are still open, shipping orders as rapidly as possible.
Mail order parcels themselves are considered to be relatively safe, as viruses cannot survive on surfaces for long.
We would however recommend thorough handwashing after unpacking your order.

Currently we are not accepting telephone orders in all but exceptional circumstances.
Please place your order online if at all possible.

Customer collections |
Regrettably we are not accepting drop-in customers or order collections from our
warehouse at present, to limit the possibility of exposure to our staff.

UK deliveries - Royal Mail |
Operating mainly as normal, but with delays:
Royal Mail delivery services are still operating, and delays are becoming less frequent.
However with COVID-related staff absences, some posted items will inevitably be unavoidably delayed.
- The Special Delivery service is now expected to be delivered by 4pm instead of the usual 1pm.
(The usual "highlands & islands" exemptions still apply).
- First Class / Tracked 24 services in some areas may take longer than the 1-2 working day target.
- Second Class / Tracked 48 services may take up to a week to arrive.
- Where signatures are required, the delivery driver will sign on your behalf, to avoid the contamination
risk from customers handling the driver's PDA.

Operating mainly as normal, but with delays:
The delivery driver will sign on your behalf, to avoid the contamination risk from customers handling the driver's PDA.
There are currently some delays in parts of DHL's network mainly due to driver shortages in Covid hotspot areas.

Postponed:
Unfortunately, we are seeing continued delays and delivery problems due to Covid-related border controls and
delivery staff shortages.
This, coupled with complicated changes to the way VAT is charged on EU orders has forced us to suspend
all international shipping at the moment.
